my car is a cat. for reals... it has way more than 9 lives... It is a 1990 Subaru legacy with more than 220,000 miles... it has so outlived it's time, and continues to do so.
In 2006 our neighbors just gave it to us, because "it would cost too much to fix." My dad tightened a screw or something and it worked great! He felt bad, so he gave them $100.
In fall of 2006 it overheated, and warped the heads. I was not going to pay the "too much to fix" price. But my dad said he had never done that, so he tore apart the engine and fixed it again.
Now most recently the heater core went out. For those of you that don't know, it is located all the way under teh dashboard. Therefore, everything inside the car (i.e. console, steering column, dash, etc) has to be removed to get to it.
But with a $28 part and a day working, it's good as new. I spent the evening helping put it back together. here it is all torn apart. but now, no more coolant fumes and foggy windows. My dad is my hero!
