This holiday break has been a whirlwind trip for me. I began in Salt Lake, went to Boise for Christmas, flew to California for New Years, and then up to Seattle for my cute niece's baby blessing. It has been a wonderful break, but busy. After all of it, I am now sitting in the Seattle airport waiting for my flight to Salt Lake. Unlike every other time I have flown, I was actually quite early for my flight. Consequently, I had a leisurely stroll down to the gate, and thus discovered fish under my feet.

These fish are part of a permanent art display in the Sea-Tac Airport. They follow a mosaic "river" throughout the concourse. ("Flying Fish" by Judith and Daniel Caldwell)
So, since I was early, I also followed this river, and discovered it was not just fish I was missing. Most were normal, salmon, steelhead, catfish, etc. But the following fish were also found along the river:

So here is this art, on the floor, and most people in such a hurry it is rarely noticed. So, like many of the unnoticed nuances that punctuate our lives, the fish under our feet remain a mystery to all except those who have time to stop and watch the fish.
i love those fish! i always get so excited when i see them because it means i'm going to see my family sooN! :) wish we could have met up in WA..
